The cost of two dozen oranges is going to vary greatly depending on where you are located as well as what time of the year it is. The best time of the year to purchase citrus fruit is in the winter as this is the season which many varieties of citrus is in prime picking season in Florida, California and other citrus growing states in the U.S. Because the fruit does not have to be shipped from out of the country the prices are usually a bit lower in the winter as well. Depending on how far away you are from these warmer states will also determine the prices of the oranges as well... the further away you are the longer of a distance the fruit has to be shipped, the higher the cost will be. Currently prices where I live (Wyoming) oranges are often on sale at the local grocery stores for around 80¢ to 90¢ per pound with large navel oranges around 2 oranges per pound. So that would mean that two dozen oranges where I live would end up costing me $9.60 to $10.80.
