Hi, I faced the nightmare when my Nokia 82 phone started displaying the error , "unable to receive message:delete some data" even though there was ample memory left in the phone .All my messages were tagged as resend and eventually they failed.I guess some internal file was corrupted while i was trying to send bulk messages !!!My PC suit was not working too. I searched forums for solutions and the simplest solution was too perform a soft reset. Type *#7370# :This will reset the phone as well delete user data. I took a back up of the phone on mem card and performed the soft reset, the problem was solved but when i restored phone memory from mem card, the problem resurfaced.I assumed the problem was somewhere in phone memory so i decided to reset it again and keep it that way.But i dint know how to transfer messages in the phone memory to the card.I played around a lil and was successful in doing so. Just wanne to share it with all. Follow the steps: 1.Back up phone memory on the mem card. 2.Additionally copy phone number to mem card from "contacts". 3.Perform soft reset y typing *#7370# 4.Download the following software: NbuExplorer.exe :This ll be useful to read the backup.arc file created when u back up phone memory in the mem card. 5.Connect the phone to PC and set "show hidden files". 6.Copy the hidden folder "Backup" from mem card to some location in the PC. 7.Open the Backup.arc file using NbuExplore and extract content of C:/private/1000484b to some location in PC.Name the folder as 1000484b itself.Well this was the name of the folder in my phone, not sure if its constant throughout.Keep in mind that this folder will contain a folder named "Mail2", so you search keeping this in mind. 8.Copy the extracted folder and replace it in the same location on ur mem card. i.e <mem card>/private/1000484b. 9.Once the phone is diconnected from the PC, You ll be able to see all ur previous mess transfered to mem card.Make sure the u choose mem card as storage for mess for the effects to be seen.
