What is a lanthanide element

A lanthanide element is any element that resides in the Lanthanide series on the Periodic Table. The Lanthanide series is just under the Actinide series on the Periodic Table and is usually seperated from the main part of the Periodic Table. All of the Lanthanide elements are radioactive.
