Be careful when charging lithium batteries while driving

Be careful if you're charging the lithium battery with a generator connected through an isolator. In this case, it is easier to overheat and burn out the generator. Every year, more than 1,000 vehicles burn the generator and return to the factory for this reason. Even dual generators are not immune. The isolator just keeps the starter battery from being depleted when the engine isn't running, but it doesn't control the current the alternator charges the lithium battery, which creates a problem. Because the power of the car generator is fixed, generally at 150A, which is about 2000W, and it can only be used for a maximum of 70% for a long time, which is 120A. Just like a weight lifter, for example, if he can lift 150Kg, it is ok to save it for a few seconds. , if you let him keep it for an hour, he will definitely hang up. The same is true for the generator, so it can only use up to 120A, but the isolator and lithium battery can't handle so much. As long as the isolator is connected, the current will be drawn from the generator at 150A, and this will last for several hours. Down, then the generator always runs at high temperature, and some are equipped with more than 1000Ah of electricity, which takes more than ten hours. After actual measurement, the temperature of the generator at this time will reach 190-200 degrees, or even higher. This temperature will make the insulation of the generator coil enameled wire worse, the paint will become powder and fall off, and the control circuit components inside the generator will fail. Countermeasures: 1. Note that the lithium battery can only use half of the power, do not run out. The voltage cannot be lower than 12V. 2. When charging the lithium battery, do not use the air conditioners, headlights, stereos, wipers and other electrical appliances with high power consumption, especially not at the same time! (Double generators are not affected by this article) 3. Do not charge the lithium battery when idling and the vehicle speed are relatively slow. 4. Of course, the best way is to charge the lithium battery through the current control module. Before going out, confirm the type of lithium battery driving charging, be prepared, and be prepared.
