A code is a method of sending a message in such a way that it cannot be read by someone who doesn't know how to decode it.
A code can also be a system of letters and/or numbers to shorten an address such as a post code or zip code.
Or a prefix to a phone number called a dialing code.
Or a book of rules to follow, the Highway Code, Code of Practice.
Even a string of numbers, letters and symbols known as computer code.
