Well, it is kind of a bad thing to have happen, but luckily you got to a doctor before it got too bad. If the doctor says you should wait a day, (s)he knows what is going on. I think waiting might have something to do with clearing the digestive system; Google "appendix." But you should be fine, don't worry! :)
