Yes it is possible, if the wrist is hyperextended ie bent backwards this can stretch the ligaments, tendons and median nerve in the wrist or carpal tunnel, which can later cause pain, numbness and tingling.
You have not given enough information. Carpal tunnel is an occupational disease. I think that is what it is called. It is caused from repetitive motion. It is not caused from one specific injury. If you had a specific injury it could not have caused the carpel tunnel. However, you may still have an OWCP claim for the carpel tunnel if you return to your doctor and ask them what caused the carpel tunnel . If there is a repetitive component to your job,i.e keying mail? Keyboard? this may be the cause of carpel tunnel, then it is indeed a claim for OWCP. You did not say what the injury was or what the results were but the carpel tunnel was just something the doctor happened to find when he examined you after the accident . You have had it all along , not just because of the accident.
Not sure what the carpal tunnel of love is..it is not related to the medical of carpal tunnel though.
Acute pain or chronic pain is the risk for injury.
yes it is a repetitive motion injury that can reoccur
Yes, a wrist fracture can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. When the wrist is broken, swelling or misalignment can put pressure on the median nerve, which runs through the carpal tunnel. This pressure can result in symptoms such as pain, numbness, and tingling in the hand. Proper treatment and rehabilitation are essential to minimize the risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome after a wrist injury.
Carpal tunnel is 'le tunnel carpien' in French.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a repetitive stress kind of injury, so anyone who makes the same kind of motion a lot would be vulnerable. Typing on keyboards is a typical cause.
Computer programmers can get carpal tunnel syndrome if they are not careful.
carpal tunnel syndrome
Yes it can. Sometimes this is referred to as traumatic carpal tunnel syndrome. Usually it is from a fall or car accident where the wrist is severly injured or the wrist is broken which can put pressure on the median nerve.
Repetitive Strain Injury or R.S.I. as it is often abbreviated
The most common surgical treatment for carpal tunnel is a carpal tunnel release. Other nonsurgical treatments for carpal tunnel include splinting, steroid injections, and oral medications.
