While this involves the senseless ( to us) sacrifice of the innocent- the child to be, some Islamic countries have been known to execute Pregnant Women and this happened a great deal in Iran during the anti-Shah revolution. Women have few rights in Islamic countries, and they are defined mostly in negative terms. In the hypothetical case in a civilized country- the woman would be permitted to go into labor ( not in the jailhouse yard!) sorry about the joke- and have the child in a hospital setting. Sadly, prisoners have had children- and the (mom) was securely in some form of cuffs or shackles. Then, after the child was born, the woman would be eligible for Death Row and all its morbid sequelae. I am not aware of any deliberate execution of a pregnant woman in the United States. The possibillity exists a pregnant female could be accidentally shot dead in a police shooting incident, which is a totally different thing than capital punishment. This weird congestive mix of life and death- and one beginning while one will be forcibly and artificially brought to an end, is indeed morbid food for thought
