Yes! Very very serious complications related to ectopic pregnancy,I had one myself and almost died due to blood loss, if the pregnancy progresses too far and is ectopic it can cause your fallopian tube to burst and severe blood loss can occur , The 1 thing I remember the most is brown spotting and bad cramping , if you are pregnant and have any of these it doesn't always mean your pregnancy is ectopic but ALWAYS see your doctor if you have these symptoms ...and ALWAYS trust your gut!

No. An ectopic pregnancy can never result in a full-formed baby.

`Whereas the uterus is a distensible organ capable of expanding to hold a full-term pregnancy, the fallopian tube certainly is not. It is an organ that has very little capacity for enlargement. As the pregnancy begins to grow, its size quickly exceeds the capacity of the tube to enlarge and the tube will often rupture. This is the most significant consequence of a tubal pregnancy and can be a life-threatening event``.

You go into the nearest OBGYN immediately. they will go over your options with you, depending on the development of the fetus will determine the exact procedure you'll have to go through. The baby will not live whether you attempted to continue on with the pregnancy or not, so as upsetting as it is you have no choice but to have the fetus removed for your health and safety. Once it's been discovered as ectopic, it no longer becomes about how to save the baby. It becomes about how to protect you.

Ectopic pregnancy refers to an abnormal pregnancy outside the uterine cavity, so if it is untreated, the serious result will be the acute bleeding or shock or even death. Parts of the patients will get the tubal blockage (this conditions should take some antibiotics or fuyan pill to eliminate the inflamamtion) after the ectopic pregnancy treatment, so we would ask if it has a direct relationship with the ectopic pregnancy.

If the embryo attaches to the inside of the fallopian tube it must be removed. Fallopian tubes cannot expand to accomodate the growth of the fetus and would eventually rupture, endangering the life of the mother.

Do you need an ultrasound to tell if you have an ectopic pregnancy?

Yes, you do. An ectopic pregnancy is just like a "regular" pregnancy for the first few weeks. Everything feels the same. An ultrasound is done early in a pregnancy to check things out, and if a pregnancy is ectopic, a good ultrasound technician will be able to spot it. There is no other non-invasive way to discover an ectopic pregnancy, and because of the risks posed by an ectopic pregnancy, it is critical to discover it early - if in fact there is one. Ectopic pregnancies are invariably life-threatening events, and prenatal care is important for that and many other reasons.
