In India, dental colleges have General Anatomy, General Physiology, General Pathology ( Including Microbiology.), General and Dental Pharmacology, General Medicine, General Surgery as a common subjects with M.B.B.S. students. So they can do post graduate courses in these subjects officially. Dental council of India can start such courses. Only thing is that students will get M.D.S. degree in these subjects. With regards to gynaecology, they are not exposed to the subject and they will not like to practice as gynaecologist. But after due experience in the field, they can start practice as gynaecologist but are likely to face the lengthy legal battle. Which they will win in High court and Supreme court. They can do post graduate course in gynaecology. But so far no body got admission to any such course. But legally they can do it.
