While there is still no medicine that will cure Autism, there are two FDA approved medications that help with the irritability and aggression associated with ASD. These are Risperidal and Abilify. THey are both anti-psychotics and work as a mood stabliizer. My son has Taken Risperidal for the last 4 years, and it has worked great. There is a study being done on a medication to help with social withdrawal. It is in the early stages, but has had some very positive results. The name of that medication is Arbaclofen.
