Most people with anorexia are in their late teens and early twenties, and at this point most growth of the body has stopped. If it occurs early, prolonged anorexia that is left untreated can affect the development of the body in all ways - including growth, sexual maturity, and organs - as the body is deprived of crucial nutrients. In anorexics, it is very common for bones to be weak and brittle as well.
