As far as I know Bifidobacterium bifidum is a type of bacteria that colonizes the vaginal flora, the rectum, the urogenital tract and is also found in pigs and other animals' feces. They are never found in the mouth or guts unless these organs made some kind of contact with the above mentioned sources.
I don't know if they can produce food poisoning per se but they are definitely NOT beneficial for the digestion or intestines. The real bacteria good for our health that are naturally found in yogurts are Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus. However, probably for financial purposes, they were replaced by those found in other parts of our body.
Now the vaginal flora and the intestinal flora are NOT the same so using bacteria specific for one zone will probably, in time, destroy or at least modify the other one. Not to mention that the Bifidobacterium bifidum that we find in ALL our yogurts are genetically engineered to resist the gastric acid.
