The speeding up of one's heart rate can mean one or more of several things. Some drugs, usually those that are used to treat Asthma or Heart diseases, can speed up the pulse rate for a while. Other common factors that contribute to faster pulse rates are stress, fatigue and nervousness.

hi, don't worry to much. I had someting called pvst (Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia ) , witch is commonly know as palpitations, its nothing serious and can be treated by your doctor. i had surgury for mine because it was cause by something else, so get checked out anyway, if they think something is wrong they refer you to your hospital but if not they will advise you to cut out caffeine, smoking and alcohol. that's if you do any of the following, If not it could be down to stress or it may be just a phase. anyway its nothing to panic over and are ways to keep it under control. hope this helps here is a website that might help.
