Does getting a filling hurt bad?

No they definitely don't i am deathly afraid of shots and when i found out they hade to put a shot in my mouth to numb it i started to cry but after the dentist gave me the shot i asked if he had done it yet so i didnt feel a thing. the worst part is after your face looks weird because it is numb. But the smartest thing i did was bring my iPod i would have died without it. it sort of distractss you so definitely bring one Good luck!

The dentist will give you a local anesthetic to numb your gums, then he will inject you with Novocain (I had my first filling ever last week ... and I felt a little pinch from the needle and that was it) then you won't feel anything else from there on out .... If you get "laughing gas" it will calm your nerves (I had it) and I didn't go crazy or go to sleep .. it just helps you relax so try it ........ Good Luck

Well, it depends. Sometimes they give you the shot through your gum, or have you drink a medicine, or even spray it through your nose.
