Type your answer here... Orchiectomy is a virtually outdated treatment normally reserved for some advanced prostate cancer cases. In these advanced cases a cure is considered unlikely by whatever treatment, and cure in 100% of cases is just not possible. As applied to localized prostate cancer (which is not common practice) a "cure" is quite possible but the side-effects of treatment are very considerable - osteoporosis. impotence, depression, cognitive depletion, hot flashes, increased weight and so on. There may also be legal problems involved. All in all it is rarely advisable.

As Sdresh said for ''Is there a treatment for Prostate Cancer? ''If the cancer is in its early stages and is still contained within the prostate, radiation "seeds" can be implanted or the prostate can be removed by surgery. If the cancer has extended outside the prostate, there is less chance of eradicating it. I don't know of any natural cure although saw palmetto is said to help maintain a healthy prostate.
