I know for me, i have to be a full-time college student [at least 14 units] to be on their insurance.
The 24-year-old does not have to live at the parent's home to be covered by their health insurance.
He is covered under his parents' policy until he gets his own car and license.
Yes, the person is an adult and if the accident was his fault is responsible regardless of the status of the insurance coverage.
Retiree health insurance coverage is being denied on 25 year old dependent. I thought that the Affordable Care Act required that all dependents under 26 could be covered under the parents policy? Is there a loop hole disallowing dependent coverage of a 25 year old?
No, once your 18 whether male OR female, you will no longer be covered by your parents no matter what. Not to sure about the special ed though.
The parent who was born first in the year. In other words if the mom was born in June and the father was born in July, then the primary insurance would be covered by the mother. This also applies to both parents being born in the same month. Whoever was born first is the primary holder of the insurance.
it really depends of each individual insurance. If the 19 year old is a full time student, she would be fully covered under your insurance. Also, some state laws require parents to cover a dependant child until a certain age (thru age 19 or sometimes even 23). if the child is covered under the insurance, a pregnancy would be covered.. meaning all prenatal care, post natal for the mother and delivery, including hospital and physician fees. The baby however, will not be covered. The dependant of a dependant is not typically a eligible covered dependant on any insurance plan. I've seen insurance plans that would cover a 19 year old child dependent, but, when you check the maternity benefit, she won't be covered unless there is a complication with the pregnancy. If your insurance plan covers her as a dependant or student then she will be covered for her maternity. Most insurance policies will not cover a dependant grandchild, it depends on your individual plan. I have not seen any plans in my company that do. You may need to look into applying for Medicaid for the grandchild. As stated above if the 19 year old is a qualified dependent then it should be covered **IF** the parents policy covers maternity. Maternity is not automatic coverage in all circumstances and is a benefit that is being made optional with much greater frequency in those states where the insurance company is not obligated to include it.
To be covered by insurance, it needs to be a full year.
Depends on your insurance, I am coming to that situation myself. I plan on calling my insurance agent
Check with your insurance company, but in most states they are covered under the parents' policy at no charge until they get their license. You should tell your insurance company that your child does have a permit to insure proper coverage Try this site where you can get quotes from different companies yourfinance.co.cc
It depends on if the vehicle is under your insurance and/or if they are covered on your insurance.
As a billing clerk in a medical office, I would ask at the time of service who is the responsible party for any uncovered charges. Most of the time the parents assumed responsibility for the charges-- but this is not written in stone. The "guarantor" information can be edited at any time and if the parents want the 18 year old to pay then he/she would become responsible for his/her balance.
