A stressed person is easily agitated and very moody. They feel overwhelmed and as if they lack control over their life. A stressed person would also have difficulty relaxing or calming their mind, which may lead to lack of sleep (insomnia).

Some stressed people usually avoid being around others for worry of getting angry with them or feeling lack of control over themselves when with others.

There are some physical symptoms of stress which may affect some but not all sufferers:

  • Low energy
  • Headaches
  • Digestive issues (constipation/diarrhoea/irritable bowel)
  • Tense muscles, usually leading to aches
  • Chest pain
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Frequently catching colds and viruses due to low defence
  • Loss of sexual desires
  • Nervousness and lack of confidence
  • Dry mouth or difficulty swallowing
  • Clenched jaw or grinding teeth

Stress is not to be confused with depression. The two are very, very different things which are usually confused. Depression is ten times worse than stress and leads to dark thoughts, self harm and suicidal tendencies. A person with stress will very rarely have these dark thoughts,
