Scientists have put some bacteria to work making medicines and other substances. The first medicine-producing bacteria were made in the 1970s. By manipulating the bacteria's genetic material, scientists engineered bacteria to produce human insulin. Although healthy people can make their own insulin, those with some types of Diabetes cannot. Many people with diabetes need to take insulin daily. Thanks to bacteria's fast rate of reproduction, large number of insulin-making bacteria can be grown in huge vats. The human inlusin they produce is then perified and made into medicine.

Bacteria in our digestive tract help break down food so that we can assimilate it. Bacteria in the soil help break down soil nutrients so that plants can assimilate it. Bacteria in milk help turn milk into cheese. (That's all I've got right now.)
HOW BACTERIA useful to people
Low sugar and low carbohydrate diets are usually used to help diabetics control their blood sugars and lose weight. You should follow a healthy diabetic diet and also exercise daily. An example of a diabetic diet can be found at www.diabetes-and-diabetic-diet.com/diabetic_diet.htm
Bacteria play several positive roles in people's lives, such as aiding in digestion, supporting the immune system, and synthesizing vitamins. They also help in breaking down environmental pollutants and producing antibiotics. Additionally, some bacteria are used in food production processes like fermentation.
