okay look, i know you feel that your a burden, or maybe worthless, maybe your 13 like me. I absolutely know what depression feels like, in fact i have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). But suicide, self mutilation doesn't help you, i swear it doesn't. I know you might think its your fault, and taking yourself out of this world will make it better for people around you, but no, its not. my best friend changed my life, i love him to death. He showed me that life was NOT about to be over and he helped me through it every single step of the way, as of the moment, i am still depressed and only he knows, but he is there for me, whenever..wherever. You can find somebody like that as well. And if you walk around school or work with a sad face on, STOP IT. If you are truly depressed then you will not want to show everyone, probably not, anyway. I've found that spending time with the friend that helped me makes me happier, and i love music. singing..playing my horn. it all helps. maybe you could do poetry or something. I've heard that stuff like that helps. And your probably thinking 'Man...Why wont God send someone down here to save me?!' well, he already did. His name is Jesus. And this depression thing...If you are having suicidal thoughts ALL THE TIME, you need to talk to somebody. All that stress us building up inside you, someday, its all gonna come out at once at an inconvienient time for you. I really, truly hope i helped. May you have a wonderful life ahead of you. I know, this is coming from a teenager, well, if you met me, you wouldn't think of me that way. God loves you. Jesus loves you. Your mother loves you, even f shes in heaven. Your family loves you. Your friends love you. Be thankful, and keep them happy by staying in their lives. ((read if you are a young person, or older person, it doesnt matter)P.S.- God gives us many obstacles to tackle so that we are ready for life, maybe he has something big planned for you :))
The best way to help someone deal with stress and depression is to listen and be there for them. Also being aware of any changes your loved one may be going through as in some cases stress and depression can take a toll that only medical help can solve.
