I have recently suffered the same injury. My knee is puffy and noticeably swollen but with only slight pain and a tendency to favor it when climbing stairs. Will be seeing a doctor next week but in the meantime, have you found out anything?

Thanks

AnswerThat happened to me last year. My knee got swollen to the size of a grapefruit, and I couldn't bend it at all without pain. When ice and rest didn't help much, I ended up having to go to a doctor and having the fluid drained. Hope your case isn't that bad. AnswerThis has happened to my left knee due to tripping over a fence and breaking my kneecap [dont ask how you trip over a fence, I'm still trying to figure out how exactly I did that]

Honestly, unless [like the person above stated] you go to a doctor and get it drained, you cant do much.

Try to stay off of it as much as possible and soak it by taking warm baths.

It will go away eventually; you have to wait. I waited for a couple months. The pain goes away quickly though, it just feels a little funny and a bit numb for awhile until it goes away.

AnswerI had the same problem. I tripped and fell flat on my hands and knees. It really hurt; I could barely let my pant leg touch my knee. My knee got very big and swollen, bruised. After about 2 weeks, the bruise went away, but the swelling was there, and there is still a lump-type thing; inside the lump it almost feels beady (I dont know any other word to explain it.) I have to go and get the fluid drained.

I also did the same thing but my knee was so big it looked like a softball was inside it. I am horribly afraid of needles and my knee hurt so bad that I wouldn't even let anyone TOUCH it and I would only wear sorts. I actually cun the right pant leg off all my jeans. I certainly would not let anyone jab a needle into it. After begging my doctor he told me he would not drain it. So I had to stay on the couch for 6 weeks. Oh yeah and it happened when i was trying to show my cousin that i could jump off a 1 and a half foot dirt hill. Now 2 years later my knee is a tiny bit swollen and it hurts if I walk on it too LONG. I wish I would have had it drained. The lump also ozzed puss. There is slight discoloration
