I don't know about the structural bit (apart from getting skinny!) but the kidney failiure is due to the fact that the body needs 1200 calories per day to function properly (you then add on the 800 for excercise, however mild)! Each part of your body needs a certain amount of calories, even just so you can breathe, and when you arent eating enough, the first organ to be affected is the kidney. Hope this helps xx
Anorexia can commonly cause organs to become starved due to a lack of food and adequate nutrients. This can lead to organ malfunction or failure. Anorexia has also been known to cause anemia. The kidneys can have trouble processing nutrients and waste in the body, and can also begin to develop kidney stones.

Yes, there is a difference between kidney disease and kidney failure. Kidney disease refers to any condition that affects the kidneys and impairs their function, such as inflammation, infections, or structural issues. Kidney failure, on the other hand, specifically refers to the kidneys' inability to adequately filter waste products from the blood. Kidney failure is a more advanced stage of kidney disease where the kidneys are no longer able to function properly.
The Scientific name for kidney failure is renal failure.
