When blood travels through the capillaries in the cardiovascular system, some fluids leak out and move into the lymphatic system. This system is a carrier of vein-like vessels delivering the fluids back to the bloodstream. Once inside of the lymphatic system, this fluid is called lymph. Glucose, water, and white blood cells are consistent in lymph. Lymph moves through the lymphatic system passing through knobs of tissue called lymph nodes. These lymph nodes filter bacteria and other disease-causing microorganisms. Lymph nodes enlarge when fighting off an infection.

The lymph system, including lymph nodes and lymph vessels.

What system assists the cardiovascular system by collecting excess tissue fluid?

The lymphatic system removes excess fluid from tissues. The lymph system is a network of organs, lymph nodes, lymph ducts, and lymph vessels that make and move lymph from tissues to the bloodstream. The lymph system is a major part of the body's immune system.

What are components of the cardiovascular system?

blood vessel bloodstream heart liver lymph lymph gland lymph node vein vena venation venous blood system venous blood vessel

Is lymph carried in the cardiovascular system?

Yes, it is both carried through the cardiovascular system, and through the lymphatics. Basically, lymph will first flow through the blood in arteries to the lymph node, then from the lymph node to the lymphatics.

How does the cardiovascular works?

They carry lymph back to lymph nodes.

How is the cardiovascular system and the immune system interdependent?

separate vessels exist for lymph (immune) and blood (receives oxygen from lungs)

Where do the lymphatic drain to?

Into the large neck veins of the cardiovascular system.

Name 2 systems that work together. how do they work together?

The cardiovascular system and lymphatic system. Whenever the heart beats, a little fluid called lymph squeezes out of capillaries. This fluid is collected by lymph capillaries to be filtered in the lymph nodes.

What two systems of your body does cardiovascular include?

There are 4 parts of the Circulatory or Cardiovascular System. The main part is the Circulatory/Cardiovascular System (heart, blood vessels, blood.) And there are 3 sub-systems. The Immune System including the white blood cells, the Lymphatic System including the tonsils, thymus, liver, spleen, appendix, lymph nodes, & lymph vessels, and the Urinary System including the kidneys, ureters, bladder, & urethra.

What is the origin of lymph?

The orgin on lymph is this: the cardiovascular system pumps blood through its system but it cannot return all the fluid from the body cells. The lymph system picks up 60%of the fluid dropped off at the cellular level, at this point we are talking about interstial fluid, the IF picks up plasma and becomes tissue fluid. The tissue fluid is then picked up my lymph capillaries, the tissue fluid is now called lymph.
