Well the hormone insulin takes glucose from the blood and shares it with other organs needing it. If Insulin isnt produced than this process isnt occuring which makes your blood have higher glucose levels, the insulin isnt doing its job.

What organ regulates blood sugar level in the body?

Insulin controls glucose levels in the blood. Those having diabetes or suppose to become diabetic, their insulin secretion is erratic and are to take insulin injection to stable the glucose level in the blood.

How are insulin and blood sugar related?

insulin helps transport the blood sugar into cells were sugar is needed. insulin is related to blood sugar cause insulin can lower blood sugar level.

What is a hormone secreted by the pancreas which lowers the level of blood?

Insulin

What is functions of glucagon and insulin?

Insulin decrease blood glucose level.Glucon increase glucose level.

What does the pancreas produce that helps the body to take in sugar?

Short answer:Insulin.Long answer: Normally, blood glucose levels are tightly controlled by Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas. Insulin lowers the blood glucose level. When the blood glucose elevates (for example, after eating food), Insulinis released from the pancreas to normalize the glucose level. In patients with diabetes, the absence or insufficient production of Insulin causes hyperglycemia. Diabetes is a chronic medical condition, meaning that although it can be controlled, it lasts a lifetime.

What does insulin control the level of in blood?

Blood sugar (or what is more specifically known as blood glucose level).

How does the body return the glucose level to normal?

Blood glucose is regulated with two hormones both produced in the pancreas:called insulin.the catabolic hormones glucagon, cortisol and catecholamines which increase blood glucose;the anabolic hormone insulin, which decreases blood glucoseIn diabetic individuals the pancreas has either ceased to function (Type 1 diabetes) or has decreased its output wth an associated failure of the cells to utilize the enzyme messages (Type 2 diabetes)

How is the level of sugar in vertebrate blood kept constant?

The blood sugar level is controlled mainly by two hormones.1.Insulin 2.Glucagon.Both hormones are secreted from Pancreas. When blood glucose level (sugar level) increases, Insulin is secreted from beta cells of islets of Langerhans in Pancreas. it increases the cellular uptake of glucose which in turn reduce the glucose level in the blood. When glucose level decreases in the blood, Alpha cells secrete Glucagon. It decrease the uptake of glucose by cells and increase glucose level.Over level of glucose also expelled through urine (Diabetes Mellitus)Mainly insulin & Glucagon are the controllers of blood glucose level.

The source and function of insulin?

It is produced in beta cells in pancreas. It reduce the blood sugar level

When blood glucose level rises the pancreas secretes insulin and as a result blood glucose level declines When blood glucose level is low the pancreas secretes glucagon and as a result blood gluc?

Insulin decrease glucose level.Glucogon increase glucose level.

What is the insulin?

It is a hormone. It reduces blood glucose level.

Can you take omeprazole before a fasting blood test?

No you need to know what your blood sugar level is if your level is already low and you take insulin you can go into insulin shock
