If your hand is just sprained, it should heal in 7-10 days.
Six to eight weeks. Depends on the fracture.
You don't. Torn and pulled ligaments can take as long as six weeks to heal. However, you can ease the pain by icing the foot and trying over the counter pain relievers.
Ligaments are said to be hypovascular structures, which in plain English means they do not receive much blood. The slow healing of ligaments is thought to be secondary to this characteristic. In the words of former pro football player and later actor Alex Karras: "Ligaments don't heal". That is a bit of an overstatement - but not much.
Since the ligament was torn, the blood vessels in your ligament were also damaged. Cells are what heals injuries, and with less blood, it will take longer to heal.
