Digestion time varies depending on the individual. For most healthy adults, it's usually between 24 and 72 hours. After you eat, it takes about six to eight hours for food to pass through your stomach and small intestine. Food then enters your large intestine (colon) for further digestion and absorption of water. Elimination of undigested food residue through the large intestine usually begins after a total of 24 hours. Complete elimination from the body may take several days.

Pickles are fairly easy to digest in the human body. They normally only take a few hours to go through the digestion process.
It actually depends on the type of food eaten. Most food you eat is completely digested, mouth to anus. in 12 to 48 hours. Some, and this is contingent upon your metabolism, can take as long as 72 hours.

The digestion process for a goose takes about 2-4 hours from when it eats to when it excretes waste as feces.
The digestion of carbohydrates (starches and sugars) and of protein is so different, that when they are mixed in the stomach they interfere with the digestion of each other. An acid process (gastric digestion) and an alkaline process (salivary digestion) can not be carried on at the same time in an ideal way in the stomach. In fact, they cannot proceed together at all for long as the rising acidity of the stomach contents soon completely stops carbohydrate digestion and this is followed by fermentation.

The steps of the nutrition process include ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation, and egestion. Sometimes people need to take supplements to aid their digestion.
