The standard procedure for lumbar epidurals is 3 injections over a 3 week period. However, if the patient hasn't shown any improvement or relief after the second week, surgical options are considered. As long as the patient is improving, a doctor can make the decision to push the option a bit further.
If your doctor is proceeding with another injection, you must be responding. In any case, painful though they may be, epidurals are nothing compared to spinal surgery, and you should avoid any surgical option as long as other therapies are working.
yes because the injections stop it from getting deseases
There are a few types of lip injections for collagen enhancement, such as collagen injections, hyaluronic acid fillers, and fat injections. Collagen injections involve injecting collagen directly into the lips to add volume. Hyaluronic acid fillers are a popular option as they can also hydrate the lips and last longer than collagen injections. Fat injections involve taking fat from another part of the body and injecting it into the lips for a more natural enhancement.
Epidural injections can be done 1 time or multiple times, depending on the drug, as well as an continuous drip. Examples of a 1 time epidural injection would be as a woman has entered an active stage of labor. An epidural injection will be made AFTER a catheter is placed in the epidural space. This catheter usually remains till after birth, or in the case the person needs surgery, the previously placed catheter will allow another dose or even a continuous drip of medication to be administered. Also there are medications other than narcotics that can be a 1 or multiple time injection. Examples of this would be steroids, antibiotics, and intrathecal chemotherapy. In these cases the cathether may or may not be left in place. Any catheter left in place is cared for with strict sterile procedures as it can be a conduit for infection. Epidural is a common term used by lay persons to describe any sort of injection into the spinal area...however there is a difference in medical terminology related to the different anatomical spaces of the spinal area that is more descriptive to the medical person. The level of the injection will determine to a great deal as to effectiveness of the treatments, for example, if placed too high before an abdominal surgery, you can get respiratory depression, so placement is critical.
what are the side effects for foramital cervical injections? I am a 49 yr old female with cervical stenosis and osteoarthritis and its been recommended that I have an injection. My concern is weight gain or "blowing up" from the steroids. My pain is not bad now that I am on neurontin (another concern too) so if my pain comes back I will consider the injections but a friend of mine had the injections and weight gain was a big issue for her. Thanks elizabeth
ANSWERA prolapsed vaginal wall or vault is the result of a variety of things.AgeAs women grow older the natural strength and elasticity of the internal vaginal connective tissue weakens. This can cause the interior of the vagina to drop or fall out through the opening.ChildbirthIn some cases a prolapsed vagina is the result of continual child birth. The loosening of the interior of the vagina from multiple pregnancies in a relatively short period of time can occur. When the interior of the vagina is not allowed adequate time to shrink and tighten before being stretched by another birthing.Fisting/Sexy Toys/Large PenetrationOn average the most common cause of a prolapsed vagina comes from extreme penetrations. When a woman is penetrated by large penises, sex toys or fists (or other objects) continually on a regular basis, the interior vaginal tissue becomes loose and has a higher risk of prolapsing out through the opening.
It definitely can! A year and a half ago I had 3 intramuscular steroid injections in my lower back and a couple months later my hair started falling out by the handfuls. It quit just as fast as it started but it did last several months. Then in January my second doctor told me he wanted to try a series of 3 epidurals. I told him I was concerned about hair loss. He thought it would not affect it since the steroid would be staying in the spinal canal. Well, guess what?? Here it is June and my hair has been falling out starting the end of April and is continuing to fall out by the handfulls now. Hopefully it will stop soon. My dermatologist told me this is definitely a side effect to steroid injections and about the time you start freaking out about it because your hair is getting so thin, it seems to suddenly stop. Keep your fingers crossed!! I know I will never have another steroid injection again!
The impact of injections into the spending stream is that injections add to main income spending stream in economy . Often times , people think of government spending as an injection , but that is misleading . For the government to ''inject'' into the spending stream , it must first take something from it . As you would if you were to donate blood . Your blood cannot be donated to another body if it has not yet been taken from you . Injections are an addition to the income of firms which do not normally arise from the expenditure of households e.g. changes in investment , government spending or exports .
It is an injection of pain relief directly into the spine. It numbs your legs and lower torso but still enables you to push. It is a shot right into your spine.. I have had one and my suggestion is if you are thinking of having one go ahead with the epidural that way it stays in and you dont have to go through the pain of later getting another shot in your spine..with the epidural they can regulate how much pain medicine you need through the whole delivery An epidural will alleviate ALL PAIN during labor! Pushing is a bit tricky because you are numb from the waist down. You are given the epidural and a "top-up" button to continue pumping in pain relief. I kept this up for ten hours, until it was time to push, then I stopped topping up. By the time my son was born, about two hours later, the numbness had worn off a bit, but still not much pain. I highly recommend the epidural- having pain relief doesn't make you less of a woman or mother or any such nonsense! No pain= no pain!!!! I have been a midwife for 26 years and if a woman wants a natural childbirth I will support her all the way. However some women don't or are advised not to. The epidural shot does not actually go into the spinal cord but into the space around it and most of the time it works very well. Sometimes it can be balanced so you can be painfree but still be able to move. If it is possible that you may need an emergency C-section it just needs to be topped-up. I had an epidural for both my labours because I had high blood pressure. The first time I had a big baby in an awkward position who took a lot of pushing, but I had a normal delivery. The second time with twins I was quite ill but as they were smaller I had a very quick easy labour.
Well not necessarily an epidural. You can get a spinal anesthesia instead. You do need an anesthesia for a C-section, or it will be truly painful. You have choices so if you're against an epidural you can choose another anesthesia.
A common site for administering intramuscular (IM) injections in dogs is the thigh muscle, specifically the quadriceps muscle located on the front of the hind leg. Another suitable site is the lumbar muscles, located along the back near the spine. It's important to choose a site with sufficient muscle mass and to ensure proper technique to minimize discomfort for the dog. Always consult a veterinarian for guidance on the correct administration of injections.
Yes, you do have to take injections for Type 1 Diabetics. I am a Type 1 Diabetic. I am only 12. I used to take injections, but now I have the insulin Pump. I only have to take a shot every 2 days. When, I was on the injections, I had to take a shot 4 or more times a day! That was a lot. I hope you learned something form my answer. Thanks!
Birthing classes are an alternative method. They give you lots of breathing techniques and alternatives not found with an epidural. Laboring in water is another tool to use since the pain is so much less when you're submerged. Some hospitals even allow you to give birth in the water, which would help with the pushing pain. Hypnobirthing is another trend that is becoming increasingly popular. There are plenty of pain control methods that aren't as severe as epidurals so talk to your doctor to better understand your various options.
