Doctors say that sperm count should be at least 20 million, and that in and of itself is somewhat low. So therefore, a 6 million sperm count means you're well below the average, and deemed to have a low sperm count. It's a good idea to talk to your doctor and if you're trying to conceive, they can recommend different tests or treatments to increase your count. Otherwise, not that it's impossible, it would just be difficult trying to conceive.

What age is a male dog sperm count low?

Dogs normally live to be 12-15 years old, and some can still father puppies at that age. Ofcourse most Dog Clubs only register puppies if the father is under 12 years old. Your dog's sperm count should be healthy for atleast 6 years. Between 7-10 years of age there will be a decrease in sperm count, which could be enough to keep him from breeding.

Why is it said that a man produces 400 billion sperm in his life if that only accounts for 11 years of production at 100 million daily?

Did you know? that a man produces 100 million sperm cells every 24 hours and that over the course of a lifetime he produces over 400 billion. And that with the average ejaculation he "spills out" 300 million sperm. (source: NOVA: "The Miracle of Life" - The first filmed record of human conception, photographed by Lennart Nilsson, 1982 Swedish Television Corporation). However, I did some of my own calculations and discovered that 400 billion divided by 100 million per day is 4000 days, and 4000 days divided by 365 days per year = 11 years production of sperm. That is hardly a lifetime? That only gets a man from about age 13 to age 24. Either they calculated wrong and the sperm count is about 6 times that high (3 trillion) or else they aren't telling us that sperm production goes way down with age. But if 400 billion sperm only gets us to age 24 (at 100 million produced daily from age 13 lets say) what happens after age 24? I think the sperm count is much higher than NOVA is leading us on to believe.

How can increase sperm count?

There are many things a man can do to increase sperm count. The most important one is to quit smoking, alcohol, and avoid heat around the genital area. Avoiding fast foods and increasing the amount of healthy fruits and vegetables is another way to increase sperm count. This is important because fertility vitamins for men are present in great quantities in fresh fruits and vegetables. Fertility vitamins include zinc. selenium, vitamin C, vitamin E. Also supplementing with fertility foods like bee pollen, Acai berry, and Gonji juice can help increase sperm count.
