There are several different types of arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis. osteoarthritis is caused by normal wear and tear of your articular cartilage scraping against the articular cartilage of opposing bones when you do anything from walking to jumping rope to riding a bike; this also means that more active people can be more prone to this condition. a person who spends their life running is much more likely to suffer osteoarthritis in their knees and hips than someone who doesn't. there is evidence to suggest that there is somewhat of a hereditary component to osteoarthritis, because how much cartilage develops in the joints during growth can be the difference between getting osteoarthritis, and not.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a completely different thing.
