My guess is it's NOT normal because I have that problem, and no one else I know does. When I swallow there is a sort of popping/crunching sound in my ears that only I can hear.
I do know that I also happen to have TMJ, and none of these symptoms began to occur until my wisdom teeth were left impacted too long. The TMJ symptoms started, as well as the ear popping. Even a year after the extractions these problems continue.
My guess is that the TMJ and ear popping are related somehow. When I mention it to doctors or dentists they tend to brush it off.
Ears make a popping noise when you swallow due to the opening and closing of the Eustachian tubes, which connect the middle ear to the back of the throat. Swallowing helps equalize pressure in the middle ear, allowing trapped air to escape or enter, thereby creating the popping sound. This process helps maintain proper ear pressure and can be more noticeable during changes in altitude, such as during flying or driving in mountainous areas.
Loud Noise And Explosions may damage the ear drums...
ear plugs
The noise reduction rating of these ear muffs is 25 decibels.
It means air pressure is getting out of the ear
Over the ear offers better noise isolation.
no
The dB rating of ear muffs for noise reduction indicates how much sound they can block out. The higher the dB rating, the more effective the ear muffs are at reducing noise.
You can wear ear plugs, or everytime you get out of the water, air them out with your finger, or if you have a cap, pull it over your ears.
Tinnitus
Ear plugs can provide a maximum noise reduction of around 30 decibels.
vomiting can come along with an ear infection. Everytime my son gets an ear infection he cant keep anything down at all.
