No. Goiter is the result of insufficient intake of iodine, which regulate the thyroid gland, which then swells, and is called a goiter.

This is the reason that table salt has been required for decades to have a small amount of iodine in it . . . this is the best way for the most number of US citizens to avoid goiter.

Look at a box of table salt . . . it says "Iodized".

(Pure salt is available for use in pickling and in aquariums)
