Yes. Those with Aspergers, autism, ADD, PDD and other related neurological variances do, in fact, have different neurology. We are wired differently.

The shape, size, number and function of the nerves tends to be different. They are often longer, thinner, more of them, but with less lateral connections. This is good for concentration on singular tasks and precision production. It is bad for the type of multiple processing required for social interactions.

The cabling from one section of the brain to another is also different. This means that people with these variances, think differently and experience the world differently. Sometimes this means making novel associations that others can not see. It also means that motor coordination may be delayed and sensory input may be abnormal.

Sometimes those with aspergers are sensitive to light, sound, or touch. It is not uncommon to have aversions to taste or smell. Some with Aspergers experience more pain than the average person. Others are almost immune from pain.
