There is always research being done because Asthma is so common and can cause a lot of breathing problems. But there has been no cure found or cause of asthma. Try doing a search on the internet and you will probably find research done on asthma.

All I can really contribute to this is the fact that there is no cure to asthma, you can lessen your chances of an attack by taking your inhalers everyday, which I myself have to do. The worst thing that has happened so far with my asthma is having a small allergy attack due to hay fever, and it has upset my asthma greatly, which results in more inhalers and antibiotics to help stop the mucus from forming! oh and anti-inflammatories.

Because they are exposed to more things in their early years, and their immune system is ramped up to deal with it. Asthma is usually an allergic reaction, and allergic reactions are your immune system overreacting to something. Some scientist suggest that when babies and children are kept in overly clean environments, like those regularly cleaned with bleach, their immune systems become more sensitive, and tend to be more likely to overract to something rediculous like pollen, or dust. Whilst there isn't a cure for Asthma, there are many steps that can be taken to reduce the impact of asthma. Specifically, try to reduce the quanntity of triggers such as allergens. In the home this means cleaning all carpet and soft furnishings regularly as they act as a sink, absorbing capturing air-borne pollutants and the sink needs to be emptied regularly. This means vacuuming your carpet twice a week with a Hepa filter vacuum and cleaning your carpet every 6 to 12 months. Also vacuum your upholstered furniture, mattresses and drapes on a regular basis.

Currently there is no cure to Athsma unfortunately. However, there are a number of treatments available to people with the condition (both adults and children). My professional recommendation would be to consult a specialist so as to determine the severity of the condition and plan out a treatment plan accordingly. For all types of asthma, perhaps not. But for a certain range of causes such as allergens, the answer is yes; and I personally have seen it being administered. In this instance (and there may be additional types), it was a 1cc glass ampule of slow-acting steroids for sub-cutaneous injection and it was described as being effective for up to one month.
