As a person who has both Scheuermann's and minor scoliosis, I can tell you that Scheuermann's disease affects the "front-to-back" curvature of the spine, resulting in a slight to severe "hunch" in the upper part of the spine, near the shoulder blades. It can cause slight discomfort, Back pain and fatigue, and in severe cases Scheuermann's can even cause lung and heart problems. It typically appears in children, and can become more prominent as the child hits puberty and the skeleton grows.
