Of course they should have that right.

The main way that people participate in government is by voting. Other ways to be active in government is by lobbying, petitioning, and participating in boycotts and protests.(I'm not saying that you should go out and protest, but if you feel strongly about an issue, it is within your power to do so, so long as it does not grow out of hand.)by voting or registering to vote and participating in parties, jury duty, or voting in elections.

Thomas Jefferson. Smart man... The actual quote by Jefferson is "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." A variation of this was written by Alan Moore in the V for Vendetta comic book series in the late 1980s (which was made into a movie in 2005). The quote in this was: "People should not fear their government. Government should fear their people."

Representative Government
Yes reform without some kind of government option is very weak. Insurance companies would quickly find their way through loop hole etc. A government option will provide actual competition instead of making faux competition with new guidelines etc. Also 60% of Americans approve of a Public option. The Congress should do the will of the people and start over from scratch rather then pushing through ANY bill just to say they did something.
