The cerebrospinal nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord and the peripheral nerves given off by these to the outer parts of the body. 31 pairs of nerves emerge from the spinal cord. Each nerve has 2 roots - 1 anterior(at the front of the spine) and 1 posterior (at the back of the spine) carrying sensory nerves. Motor nerves carry impulses to the muscles, & have the responsibility for bodily movement. On the other hand, sensory nerves are responsible for carrying sensory impulses which provide the brain with information about sensation i.e. hot and cold.

Each spinal nerve attaches to spinal cord by a ventral (anterior) root and a dorsal (posterior) root. All spinal nerves are mixed nerves (both motor and sensory).

From anterior to posterior put the nerves issuing from the Brachial plexus in their proper order?

The nerves issuing from the Brachial plexus in order from anterior to posterior are musculocutaneous nerve, median nerve, ulnar nerve, radial nerve, and axillary nerve.

Why are spinal nerves mixed nerves?

Spinal nerves are said to be mixes because their posterior roots contain sensory axons and their anterior roots contain motor axons.

Do wasp have central nerves?

Yes. Like all insects its anterior rather than posterior to the body ... and all bugs have tiny "brains" - but they work well for their size.

What are intercostal nerves formed from?

Anterior branches of thoracic spinal nerves.

posterior relation:-lateral and medial arcuate ligament ,nerves-subcostal,ilioinguinal,iliohypogastric, diaphragm, psoas major, quadratus lomborum, transversus abdominis, ribs, subcostal vessels, only diff is that on the rt we only12th rib but on the lt we have 11th as well.

Function of mediastinum?

It is a space between the lungs, left and right, and the bony structures in front (sternum) and in back (thoracic vertebrae). It is classically divided into three parts radiologically on a lateral chest x-ray, the anterior (in front of the heart), middle (front edge of the heart to junction of the anterior third - posterior two thirds of the thoracic vertebrae) and posterior mediastinum. It contains the heart, major blood vessel's, trachea and esophagus, lymph nodes and nerves as well as the thymus.

What are the two lobes of the pituitary gland?

The pituitary gland is connected to the hypothalamus by a small stalk. The interaction between the nervous system and endocrine is evident in this hypothalamus-pitutary complex. The pituitary gland produces and stores hormones. The hypothalamus simulate the release of hormones by the pituitary gland by way of nerves. The pituitary gland consist of two lobes. The posterior lobe stores and releases hormones, such as ADH and oxytocin. The anterior lobe of the pituitary gland produces its own hormone. It is richly supplied with nerves from the hypothalamus.

What region of the body is served by the ventral rami of spinal nerves?

The ventral rami serves as a form of intercostal nerves, which supply the muscles between the ribs and the skin and muscles of the anterior and lateral trunk.
