Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy. I am required to fast from noon today, until my procedure at 1:00 pm tomorrow. I must also do a full bowel evacuation prior to the shock wave treatment. I have been instructed to drink 2 ounces of Castor oil at 4:00 pm.I have researched this on the internet, and have discovered this is not a pleasant experience!!
