It is not ethical to use fear for advertising and it's a form of Propaganda. However, there is a great deal of it out there and it makes many people paranoid. Some examples:

  • If you don't constantly spray or clean with a certain brand of product you will get very ill from different bacterias.
  • If you don't use an oral over the counter medication you may not find relief from your problem and it will only get worse.
  • If you do drink too much coffee it can cause cancer.
  • If you don't take prescribed Hormone Replacement for menopause you will risk Osteoporosis and heart failure.
  • If you don't start using certain vitamins or food supplements you are in grave danger of all sorts of things going wrong with your health.
  • If you don't try a certain diet pill then you will be obese forever.
  • Thin is in!

The simple truth to it all is to use one's head and here is the truth to the above:

  • Spraying certain products in your home every single day to combat different bacterias is worse for you to breath, and your skin is a living organ and the best combatant because it has it's own good bacteria. Of course washing your hands is important, and simple old bleach and water is great for cleaning off counter tops and of course washing veggies and fruits is important.
  • It is better to stave off a headache with a cool cloth and dark room to see if that works. Also Homeopathic forms to relieve headaches. If not then there are products that your pharmacist will recommend that are safe.
  • Hormone Replacement for menopause is a higher risk for breast cancer and there is absolutely no indication it gives you a stronger heart or prevents Osteoporosis. In fact, a news coverage showed the opposite. People who were not on SHORT-TERM Hormone Replacement had a high risk of blood clots, Breast cancer and no change in protecting them against heart attack or Osteoporosis.
  • One day coffee will cause cancer, then the next it prevents it and now it's tea that is good for you (green tea.) There are no medical reports proving this fact. Ads can take any food and tell you it will cause cancer or other diseases.
  • Certain vitamins are good for people to a degree, but for many too many vitamins can cause more harm than good. Food supplements are often loaded with the very dangers you are trying to get away from such as high in fats and sugars. Remember that three things make things taste better ... sugar, salt and fat. Read those labels!
  • Diet pills are very dangerous and they often have caffeine in them or other ingredients that could cause many health problems. There is no way to lose weight easily except a good diet, plenty of water, and exercise. Sorry, there are just no short cuts!
