Stress can be caused by lots of things. What ever the case my be, the best way to overcome stress is by overpowering it,You may say or do something that you will later regret.

Instead of thinking bad and ugly thoughts, having a temper tantrum, etc. Walk away slowly, breath, take a nice warm shower, write in your journal, call a friend, forget about whatever just happened, do the things that YOU like!The best way to overpower stress is to NOT let it overpower you.
