What I know is that both anti-anxiety medications and alcohol can h lead to depression symptoms and since anxiety is often the flip-side of depression it does not make a lot of sense to drink while taking this medication. That actually can be said for most medications, alcohol can interfere with the effectiveness of medications ie. anti-depressants. It is also possible that drinking, because its immediate effect is, for some people ,to act like a mood elevator( a blocker of awareness to negative emotions) can escalate to a at risk level when a person is anxioius. The person finds the immediate pay-offs pleasant, does not care about the long range effects, and can substitute good self-care and medical follow-up, with self-medicating with alcohol and drugs. A small amount of alcohol ,as a beverage I think (ask pharmacist) is unlikely to be a problem, even a de-stressor.
