Almost invariably, a bad smelling drain is caused by rotting food, grease, or other organic refuse in the drainpipes. pouring bleach down the drain will help kill the bacteria and relieve some of the smell. using drain cleaners (or in serious cases, consulting a plumber) may clean out the refuse entirely. If you make a point once a month or so of filling the sink with hot water, adding bleach, and letting it drain out, that should help keep the pipes clean for the future.
Answer
Rather than bleach, I prefer to dump some baking soda down the drain and then add white vinegar. It will fizz and help dislodge anything that is stuck down there. If you have a second sink, do the same in that drain. Worse comes to worst, get a plumber to come and open up the trap and clean out area.
