Skin irritations can lead to infections, and/or parasite infestations (like botflies). You could cause blindness if any dye gets in the rabbit's eyes.If the rabbit licks its fur with the dye on it, it could suffer from poisoning. If the weather is cold, or even cool but drafty, wet fur can lead to hypothermia. The whole procedure can stress your rabbit out, causing it to panic and injure itself, or go into shock.
