i think it looks like a raised bump and then later turns purple. i was doing pull ups and was forcefully jerking my self up to the top of the bar,when i was done i noticed i had a raised bump on my arm, likely to be a broken blood vessel of some sort

Hickeys are broken blood vessels. They look like a bruise depending on the location, pressure, length of time and the person who gave it depends on how badly bruised it looks.

That depends on what you mean by "vessel". Vessels on a vase could simply look like pictures of boats as decoration on a vase. You would typically think some type of trauma would cause this, like pounding with your palm, or carpal tunnel surgery could certainly cause bruising. A bruise is really a broken blood vessel, (or several together). Look for other areas of bruising on your body as well and if you find you are bruising a lot or for no reason, you need to go to your Dr to have your blood analyzed.
