A broken tailbone, or coccyx injury, typically causes sharp, localized pain at the base of the spine, especially when sitting, standing, or moving from a seated position. The discomfort may also radiate to the lower back and may worsen with activities like walking or bending. Swelling and tenderness around the area can occur, and some individuals may experience bruising. In severe cases, pain can persist for weeks or even months, affecting daily activities.
It may be painful and difficult to walk if your tailbone is broken, and it is important to seek medical attention to properly assess and treat the injury. Rest and immobilization may be necessary to allow the tailbone to heal.

The discomfort you feel in your tailbone while riding your bike may be due to the pressure and friction placed on that area from the bike seat. The design and positioning of the seat can cause strain on your tailbone, leading to discomfort or pain. Consider adjusting the seat height or angle, or investing in a seat with better cushioning to alleviate the pressure on your tailbone.

Ever so often I feel a need for my tailbone to feel relief. It usually has pressure on it, so if I lay down or squeeze myself together, my tailbone will make a cracking noise. It is so loud that others can hear it. I can feel it and hear it making a cracking noise, but I feel no pain. Then, once my tailbone is done with the cracking sound, it won't do it for a while until I feel the need to get relief from my tailbone again. If I ignore the need to get relief, I have extreme pain and it feels like my tailbone must be locked. If I try to lay down or squeeze myself together while my tailbone hurts, it won't budge. When I feel this pain, it tends to take days before the pain is actually gone. Please, if you know of anything that could help me, I would really appreciate it because I know it's not normal. Thanks so much!
