Right, I don't have scientific proof or have even found websites with the correct information but my family think my cousin has this so here's my knowledge based on him:
I think it's a brain disorder, and I do know it's very similar to Autism, because that's what the school originally thought my cousin has, it affects social behaviour and reactions to things around them. There are 3 behaviours of an Edison's sufferer: Discoverers, Dreamers and Dynamos. My cousin is a Dynamo, so he is extremely intelligent, and has a substantial amount of energy. I'm guessing Discoverers are over curious about thins around them and that Dreamers are ambitious. My cousin doesn't make a huge fuss over scary looking things or things he doesn't like, like a normal child would. One thing that makes this different from Autism is Autistic children aren't very social with others apart from family, but my cousin is the complete opposite, he thinks he can be everyone's friend and share with everyone. His speech isn't as good as other 5 year old's either, he also developed an English accent, even though he Irish, and lives in Scotland! We aren't completely sure if that is affected by Edison's though. I hope this helped :).
Some of the recommendations for children with the "Edison" trait could pertain here.... A child with the Edison trait needs to feel he's in control. He will accept help only if it does not threaten his autonomy. He is prone to feeling crowded and seeing adults as overbearing. The Edison-trait child is easily overwhelmed. For this reason, he needs clear direction, phrased in brief, concise messages.
