P24 tests, also known as p24 antigen tests, are diagnostic tests used to detect the presence of the p24 protein, a component of the HIV virus, in the blood. They are particularly useful in the early detection of HIV infection, often before antibodies develop, making them valuable for diagnosing acute HIV. These tests can provide results more quickly than antibody tests, typically within a few hours to a day. However, they are usually used in conjunction with other tests to confirm an HIV diagnosis.
Found in the viral core of HIV, p24 is a protein that can be measured by the ELISA technique. Doctors can use p24 assays to measure the antiviral activity of the patient's medications. In addition, the p24 assay is sometimes useful.
P24 typically refers to a protein component found in certain viruses, particularly HIV, where it is part of the viral capsid. It is a key marker used in diagnostic tests for HIV, as its presence can indicate an active infection. The term can also relate to various contexts, so it's important to consider the specific field or study when interpreting its meaning.

There are actually three different types of HIV test: * antibody tests - which detect the antibodies that the immune system produces in response to an HIV infection * antigen tests - which detect the presence of HIV's p24 protein * RNA / NAT (nucleic acid based) tests - which detect the viral ribonucleic acid (RNA) Only the antibody and RNA / NAT tests are used for routine diagnostics.
I don't think there is a quaranteed time period for that...I believe that HIV can remain dormant for up to 10 years, although that's probably an extreme case, with possibly no indication even through tests. If you feel that you had a good chance of contracting HIV, you should get routinely checked every three or six months for a couple years at least. To get a professional opinion, call Planned Parenthood or vist their website...very informative.
What tests? There were no tests.
You can expect to take many tests. Including chemistry tests, biology tests, physics tests, forensics test, etc. They are tests you will have to take and they are mandatory
