Dental Stayplates should ONLY to be used as a temporary solution for one or more missing teeth while you are awaiting a permanent tooth replacement procedure. You CANNOT/SHOULD NOT eat with a stayplate so it should be removed for meals and at night while you sleep. It's only functions are 1. keeping remaining teeth from shifting due to your tooth loss temorarily and 2. Cosmetically pleasing (however, I would debate this highly considering that the metal clasp used to keep it stable is often clearly visible when you smile. Overall, this is a temporary fix for looks only and does irriate gums and is highly uncomfortable. Not recommended for anything but keeping teeth from shifting while yuou wait for a permanent solution. These ARE NOT DENTURES that can be used for eating and break very easily. If you plan on using this in place of paying for a partial...think again. It will NOT work the same. Overall: Good for temporary looks, and I recommend getting acutal partials or a bridge if you can help it. They sell snap on teeth on the internet for $50 if you want a quick fix for cosmetic reasons....otherwise, Stayplates are useless, fragile and uncomfortable.
