Last week I had minor surgery and needed anesthesia with Oxygen. WELL, the oxygen was so cold gong into my nose and so forceful that when I woke up, my nose and nasal cavity felt like it was burned and I couldn't swallow without choking and needed liquids constantly going down throat, and nasal drops in nose. I couldn't breath cause as I did it dried out the back of my throat even more making me choke, gag, gasp, vomit, wheeze and almost die. The nurse said she never heard of anything like this happening in her 25 years........has anyone had this happen to them from Oxygen??
Yes, if you breathe through your nose it will help in keeping the throat normal else breathing through the mouth makes it dry. It can be taken as a simple remedy for sore throat.
Sounds like you can have what is called Post Nasal Drip. You can go to your doctor or to a ENT (ear, Nose and Throat) doctor and get some nose spray that will help eliminate the Phlegm. Also take into account that it can be related to allergies. But nose sprays work the best.
