Hard spots
Punctate phleboliths are small, round calcifications typically found within veins, often seen on imaging studies such as X-rays or CT scans. They are formed from the calcification of blood clots and are usually asymptomatic and of little clinical significance. Their presence can sometimes be mistaken for other conditions, but they are a common and benign finding. In many cases, punctate phleboliths are simply noted and do not require further investigation.
I have this also....I am going to a research center in the morning. My doctor just told me that it means I have kidney stones in the kidneys...they won't bother you unless they block the ureter.
Punctate density adjacent to the base of the first metacarpal may indicate possible calcification or presence of small bone spurs in the area. It could be related to conditions such as osteoarthritis or inflammatory arthritis affecting the joint. Further evaluation with imaging studies like X-rays or MRI may be needed for accurate diagnosis and management.

calcification of the aorta inferiorly?
Punctate foci are 'lesions' on the brain, typically caused by unknown trauma to the brain or conditions where demyelination of brain tissue occurs. Punctate foci are identified by brain MRI, with and without contrast although using contrast normally provides a more accurate picture of all lesions. In layman's terms, punctate foci have also been described as 'popcorn calcifications' in the brain tissue. Some punctate foci are associated with normal aging process.
It is unlikely that the calcification will disappear.

The phrase "calcification of the thoracic" is incomplete. There a missing word after "thoracic."
Calcification can sometimes be reversible, depending on the type and extent of the calcification. For example, in cases of vascular calcification, addressing underlying risk factors like high cholesterol or hypertension may help reduce calcified deposits. However, in other situations, such as bone calcification due to injury or disease, the process may not be reversible. Ultimately, the reversibility of calcification depends on the specific circumstances and underlying causes.
Can radiation therapy cause imflamation and calcification on breast mammeogram? No, it will not cause calcification, it causes something called radiation pneumonitis, its where the lung becomes too inflammed to be useful. I can be seen as a density on xrays but not as a calcification
