acne is a skin disease caused by over active hormones. The hormones in turn stimulate the oil glands in the skin to start producing oil. The oil is used as a skin lubricant. However sometimes the body produces too much oil which causes the tiny pores in the skin to become plugged. Other materials in the pores including dead skin cells, combined with oil and infected with bacteria lead to the formation of acne lesions.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for acne, it can only be treated. There are several types of treatment on the market.
